On Saturday Feb 4th, four Orange County cities competed in a new surf competition to determine which city has the best surfers. This contest is about community and fun. No prize purse here, just good old fashion bragging rights. This is the second West Coast Board Riders Competition, and it continues to grow. A total of 96 surfers were entered, ranging from 14-50 and older and hailed from Huntington Beach, Newport Beach, Seal Beach and Laguna Beach. San Clemente and Dana Point plan on joining the fun, and the hope is to eventually have competitions up and down the west coast.
After the contest, everyone headed over to the Boathouse Collective in Costa Mesa to enjoy some cold Pabst Blue Ribbon, some delicious grub, and of course some live music from local band, Los Nauticals. The winners were announces and the smack talking commenced. All in good fun of course! Please enjoy some shots from the West Coast Board Riders Cup Series After Party at the Boathouse Collective in Costa Mesa.
