Holy Cow! That’s all I can say about Michelle and Eddie’s Mammoth Mountain engagement session at Convict Lake and Hot Creek. When Eddie called me to inquire about wedding photos and mentioned doing their engagement session in the Sierra’s, I was SO excited! I’m very much a nature lover and explorer, so anytime I get to be in a new breath taking place, it is like a kid in a candy shop! After our initial meeting, we set a date for this amazing trip.
Michelle and Eddie are big into fly fishing, so they enjoyed a few days on river and lakes the before our shoot reeling in the trout! We met up at the awe inspiring Convict Lake, just south of Mammoth Lakes. Being a warm spring day, the lake was a buzz with tourist, but we were able to find some quiet spots to get some adorable pictures. The two even put on there waiters and hopped into the ice cold lake!
Once the sun went below the towering mountains that butt up to lake’s edge, we were off down a long dirt road to Hot Creek! Hot Creek is a national geological site, where at some parts the sulfuric springs can reach boiling temperatures! Down the creek a bit is great fishing ,and the couple had spent the evening before enjoying the waters edge. We hiked up and down the creek and enjoyed the susnset. What breathtaking views! The mosquitos were a bit rough, but Eddie and Michelle were champs and we all had such an amazing time!
