Kim and Felipe | New Orleans Engagement

When Kim and Felipe told me their idea for a New Orleans Engagement Session I jumped out of my seat! What an amazing reason to travel to one of America’s coolest cities! New Orleans has special meaning to these two, as they have visited there many times, and love exploring all the city has to offer. They had such great ideas of where to shoot, and came to the session looking absolutley fabulous! I was obsessed with Kim’s red dress that really added a pop of color and stood out with the hustle and bustle of Bourbon Street. We started our session at Audubon Park, which features the “The Tree of Life”, a beautiful historic oak tree with whimsical spanish moss hanging from its branches.

Our second location, of course was the iconic French Quarter! The unique and historic architecture, combined with the afternoon light was a dream. The tunes of street musicians were our soundtrack as we strolled the French Quarter, stopping at lafitte’s blacksmith shop, the absinthe house, and Jackson square. This whole session was a dream and I can’t wait to see Kim and Felipe tie the knot next year!

I love when couples bring their all to a shoot! Libby and Jeremy were looking soooo elegant in this Newport Beach engagement session at a gorgeous Crystal Cove restaurant. We wanted classic arched architecture with an stylish flare. After some brainstorming, we decided to contact local restaurants. Finding new and different locations is one of my favorite ways to make a session unique! We went for a moody and dramatic tone for this portion of the session, which translated into movie poster quality images!

Next, we hiked down to the beach for a more casual airy look. Heisler Park in Laguna beach not only has a beautiful rocky coastline, but also offers a gorgeous lush park for a different look. Libby and Jeremy were a bit nervous at first about being in front of the camera, but as you can see, came to have a blast during their Laguna Beach Engagement Session and looked flawless!

I CAN NOT wait to be with them in Cabo for their wedding in a few short months!

This adorable family session at the Rackliffe House in Berlin Maryland is so close to my heart. Not only is it my older sister, (if you couldn’t tell!) but it took place the same place Seth and Amanda got tied the knot only a short time berfore. The gorgeous Rackliffe house is nestled in the woods right before the bridge to cross over to Assateague Island. My newphew Teague was all giggles as we strolled around the grounds on this crisp winter day. Being back home in Ocean City, Maryland with my family warms heart and I cherish every time I’m home. For family photography in Ocean City, Berlin or the surrounding areas, please contact me for available dates. I try my best to make it back to the east coast every few months and am always happy to schedule some shoots!

j Irvine Regional Park Lumberjack First Birthday

When my long time friend Jackie told me about all the details of her little Lumber “Jakes” first birthday I could not wait to see it all come to life! I mean, bubbles, face painting, smores, and a dance party?! That sounds like a good time! This little guy probably had one of the coolest first birthday parties in the books! Every last detail down the the desert table by and catering was lumberjack themed! All the guest wore plaid and there was an open fire to roast marshmallows on the cool California winter day. The party ended with an epic sing along to Journey no less, courtesy of the awesome guys at VOX DJ’s. A blast was had by kids and adults alike. Please enjoy this Lumberjack First Birthday Party in Irvine Regional Park.

Winter Military Boho Wedding Sarah Mack Photo

Rustic Military Wedding | Thomas F Riley Wilderness Park | Orange County Wedding Photography

Set in an abandoned meadow and atop a golden hillside, the inspiration for this shoot was a mix of vintage military classical and rustic bohemian charm. Our groom is wearing a military issued Air Force uniform, complete with medals and a maroon beret, which gives the shoot a classic, old-world feel. Our bride is in a timeless lace gown by Allure Bridals and a gold leave belt by A bit of Love.

Stephanie and Tony are in a long distance relationship while Tony is serving in the Air Force. They value their time together and you can see the love and excitement every minute the are around one an other. Their love story really created a beautiful story line for our old world military inspired story line.

Our decor consisted of mis matched antique furniture pieces provided by Sweet and Salvage Rentals. We added a small modern twist with geometric china and tied in the rustic charm using copper mugs and burlap accents to adorn the table.

Accompany all of that with unique florals that incorporated cotton and mushrooms, and you have a wedding scene that takes you back to another time.

Tulum Mexico Engagement Session | Matt and Nisha | Destination Wedding Photographer

I met Matt and Nisha on a short vacation after a little work trip down to Cancun, Mexico. My hubby and I decided to take some time and explore Tulum, Mexico. It was everything we had hoped for. A relaxed beach town with eco friendly establishments, gorgeous beaches and a town with tons of fun and nightlife. We met Nisha and Matt while bonding over our music taste at a local happy hour. After we talked for a bit we found out that they were looking to shoot there Engagement session in Tulum, since it is somewhere they have been together a few times. It was kismet! We set the session for the next day and it could not have been more fun! They didn’t want the typical beach scene, which is what most people would opt for in Mexico. Instead, they were drawn to the town, with its Mexican architecture and vibrant colors. We spent the afternoon wandering around the town, getting chased by local street dogs and finished it all with a cold margarita. Such a fun way to spend an afternoon exploring a new and different culture. Congrats guys!
