When looking for a location for an elegant winter wedding styled shoot, The Avenue of the Arts came to mind right away. I fell in love with the beautiful interior decor the tribute portfolio hotel offers. Their stunning lobby features a metallic mantel, chandelier and a modern choice of furniture. We photographed our bride in one of their spacious Executive Suites. The room is filled with light and the eclectic arts-inspired design makes for a perfect backdrop. Wondering around the hotel there are endless backdrops for gorgeous photos. Its a photographers playground! When Leslie called me to talk about her idea for an Engagement Session in the beautiful Olympic National Park at Quinault Rainforest I was beyond excited. We started by planning hikes and ideas were flying! We decided on a hike and hoped for an unusual rain-free day. Well, that did not happen but the rain made for an experience we will never forget! These two love the outdoors, and living in Seattle, they are no stranger to getting a little wet. Wrapping my gear in trash bags and going all in, we went for it and created some amazing photographs! Everywhere I looked I felt like I was in Fern Gully. The lush foliage and beautiful natural light was a photographers playground. There is something magical about the desert. It attracts the most inspiring and interesting people. These two east coast transplants have made their home in Joshua Tree and flourished in a whirlwind of art and love. When one of my best childhood friends told me she was engaged I could not wait to celebrate with her! When I booked my trip to my home town of Ocean City Maryland I was gitty with excitement to spend three hours with Sarah and Wes in one of my favorite places on earth. We spent our time in the woods off of Sinapuxent road then headed to the inlet for a breathtaking sunset. After the session we made time for a stroll down memory lane, my vacation would not be complete without a ride on The Zipper for old times sake! There was a bit of the chill in the air last Friday when we headed out to Heisler Park in Laguna Beach for Laura, Travis and Evelyn’s family session.
