This Rock and Roll Alternative Styled shoot was inspired by the town of Costa Mesa and the people who make it what it is. Westside Museum, where this shoot took place has a slogan, “Keep Mesa Cool”. And that’s exactly what we are doing with this moody, alternative wedding. We wanted to embody the artistic, somewhat grungy vibe of the area and the people who reside here. Our two love birds are what this shoot was inspired by. Ben and Madeline are in a local band together, and Ben is the curator of I Heart Costa Mesa, a local online publication that features artists and events in the area. They embody the artistic edge that this shoot brought to life. Both with past modeling experience, and an interests in all things creative, they were the perfect couple to carry the vision to fruition.
The blank industrial space is perfect for creatives with a different idea for their wedding decor. We thought of the idea of a bad ass rock and roll wedding and ran with it. Our bride was styled in a two piece beaded crop top, an elegant high- waisted skirt, and paired with a black leather jacket. We styled her dapper groom in black jeans and a black tee with a vintage jacket and wingtip shoes from Swellegant. Kats Creations Florals designed a beautiful look with dark purple hues in an oversized bouquet and an abundant table scape. Monge Amore Events, went to town styling the area with gothic candles, cow skulls and a purple ombre lamb skin rug for a vibe that rivals any traditional wedding decor. The invitations designed by The Paper Mint Press paired perfectly with the plums and cherries we used as accent pieces on tableware provided by Baker Party Rentals. All of this combined with a kick ass motorcycle and you have an alternative moody wedding for the ages.
I am such a fan of intimate weddings on the beach. Anna and Vitaly’s wedding was just that. They tide the knot in the beautiful botanical garden at the St. Regis in Laguna Niguel surrounded by 15 of their closest friends and family. The gazebo was adorn with elegant white flowers designed and arranged by the bride herself. Anna not only did the flowers, but also designed her own dress, complete, with tulle flowers along the train.

A beer themed wedding?! I kid you not! Andrea and Shelby’s wedding was at the beautiful Long Shadow Ranch in Temecula California. The vineyard offers rolling hillsides, and beautiful barn style buildings that make for the perfect rustic backdrop. To add even more awesomeness to the day, the bride and groom’s name is Mr. and Mrs Smith! How is cool is that!?!
We started the day at the quaint Temecula Creek Inn for hair and make up. Andrea and her bridesmaids are make up artist, so the ladies spent all morning dolling each other up while the guys hung out at the ranch. Both the bride and groom had growing anticipation leading up to the big moment!
The ceremony was light hearted and included the classic Wedding Singer song, “Grow Old With You” Lyrics. Like always, I was tearing up behind the camera!

Set in an abandoned meadow and atop a golden hillside, the inspiration for this shoot was a mix of vintage military classical and rustic bohemian charm. Our groom is wearing a military issued Air Force uniform, complete with medals and a maroon beret, which gives the shoot a classic, old-world feel. Our bride is in a timeless lace gown by Allure Bridals and a gold leave belt by A bit of Love.
Stephanie and Tony are in a long distance relationship while Tony is serving in the Air Force. They value their time together and you can see the love and excitement every minute the are around one an other. Their love story really created a beautiful story line for our old world military inspired story line.
Our decor consisted of mis matched antique furniture pieces provided by Sweet and Salvage Rentals. We added a small modern twist with geometric china and tied in the rustic charm using copper mugs and burlap accents to adorn the table.
Accompany all of that with unique florals that incorporated cotton and mushrooms, and you have a wedding scene that takes you back to another time.

I met Matt and Nisha on a short vacation after a little work trip down to Cancun, Mexico. My hubby and I decided to take some time and explore Tulum, Mexico. It was everything we had hoped for. A relaxed beach town with eco friendly establishments, gorgeous beaches and a town with tons of fun and nightlife. We met Nisha and Matt while bonding over our music taste at a local happy hour. After we talked for a bit we found out that they were looking to shoot there Engagement session in Tulum, since it is somewhere they have been together a few times. It was kismet! We set the session for the next day and it could not have been more fun! They didn’t want the typical beach scene, which is what most people would opt for in Mexico. Instead, they were drawn to the town, with its Mexican architecture and vibrant colors. We spent the afternoon wandering around the town, getting chased by local street dogs and finished it all with a cold margarita. Such a fun way to spend an afternoon exploring a new and different culture. Congrats guys!
When looking for a location for an elegant winter wedding styled shoot, The Avenue of the Arts came to mind right away. I fell in love with the beautiful interior decor the tribute portfolio hotel offers. Their stunning lobby features a metallic mantel, chandelier and a modern choice of furniture. We photographed our bride in one of their spacious Executive Suites. The room is filled with light and the eclectic arts-inspired design makes for a perfect backdrop. Wondering around the hotel there are endless backdrops for gorgeous photos. Its a photographers playground! Please enjoy this Elegant Winter Wedding Styled shoot coordinated by the beautiful and amazing Jen at Jen Events. A huge thank you to everyone involved!
